The Venue
Our unique offering combines high-end event management with beautiful natural scenery on the Slane Castle Estate. You can have your wedding reception in our beautifully renovated rustic haybarn. We can accommodate small groups up to large scale 200+ guests on the day with full crisp linens and stocked bar to keep your guests fed and happy throughout the day.
The Ceremony
You may choose to have your wedding ceremony in one of the local Churches in nearby Slane Village or perhaps you are looking to host a humanist or shamanic celebration in the beautiful Glamping grove under the bows of giant sycamore and large stretch tent (included in the venue hire).
Either way we can provide you with an experienced venue-based coordinator to guide you through the process, celebrants and other specialist services such as wedding coordinator, catering, flowers, hair and beauty.
Catering Services
Rock Farm Slane boasts an organic farm and kitchen team to create an organic feast of home grown beef, pork, turkey and vegetables. We specialise in pig on the spit and BBQ style meats and are able to cater for all types of menus including all vegan menus.
Guest & Bridal Accommodation
Boutique Glamping – As a gold-certified Ecotourism Ireland destination, Rock Farm Slane specialises in mixed guest and bridal accommodation, including a strawbale cabin Swallow's Nest which is provided to the couple free of charge for the wedding night. The star attraction is the boutique Glamping, which has 5 yurts, 2 shepherd huts and 5 bell tents from June to September. We can also provide more bell tents for overnight stays and can sleep up to 100 guests sharing. Once all our accommodation is booked out we will also allow campervans and caravans for overnight stays.
The Lime House – Situated beside the Hay Barn, the Lime House will suit those members of the bridal party who want to be beside the action and is the ideal spot for getting ready for the Big Day. We encourage couples to come and stay the night before and the night after the wedding so that they can get ready in the Hay Barn and enjoy a good catch up with friends the day after. The Lime House is ideal for hosting this kinds of groups as it can host up to 90 people in the ground floor sitting and dining rooms. Five of the six rooms are en-suite with access to shared living room, lounge and kitchen areas. This property is available for private hire and would also serve perfectly as the space for small weddings.
The River House - Perfect for the groom's family or an extended family group who all want to be together. The River House is situated at the bottom of the farm at Slane Bridge and is within walking distance of both the main farm area and the village.

We were finding wedding planning pretty stressful even before it became a "covid wedding", and I honestly don't think we could have done it without the kindness, pragmatism and helpfulness of you and your team. I also wanted to particularly mention how wonderful the food was, both the evening before and the day of the wedding. Our families are still telling us how delicious it all was at every opportunity! If I'm honest, I hadn't anticipated how important the food would become given how small the event was - with the rest of the day necessarily toned down for the much smaller group, and given the restrictions of social distancing, having such gorgeous meals really made it all very special for us.
We went into this wanting a laid-back celebration that we could relax during and really enjoy, and that's exactly what we got, thanks in no small part to all your hard work. Particular highlights for us were having a quiet moment looking up at the stars in the outdoor hot tub the evening before the big day, the spectacular views and beautiful trees from the glamping area to look out on the morning of (not to mention during the photos later on), and being able to chat to our families in such a warm and homey space late into the evening as the celebrations wound down. We had brought our own food to do bbq on day 2 and the staff in rockfarm were so helpful in getting the bbqs and pizza oven set up for us and getting us ectra cutlery etc.

The primary selling point for Rockfarm, other than it?s lovely, helpful staff, is it?s beautiful natural setting. The staff are happy for you to do with it what you want decoration-wise, however the nature surrounding the venue does not need much added to make it beautiful.
It has a few different locations within it meaning that over the course of the 2 full days and 3 nights that we spent there, people didn?t get sick of the same space as there was always some variety. This was an important selling point for us. Rockfarm can have a festival feel to it while still having the gravity of a wedding venue. Everyone working there are relaxed, while still professional, which leads to your guests enjoying it as much as possible. Our guests also loved the accommodation available on site ? tents, yurts, cabins and the rental houses.
We chose to get married outside and there were a few beautiful options of where the ceremony can be. The barn was a great place for the meal and dancing with lots of space. Having the bar included in the main room meant that the crowd wasn?t split up and the dancing continued all through the night. After the barn, you have use of the campsite area which has a kitchen room that held all the guests that were wanting to continue the party through the night.
It is difficult to have a wholly sustainable wedding, however choosing Rockfarm as venue goes a long way towards this. All the food provided is supplied by their farm or local producers. Rockfarm has been certified as ?Gold? by EcoTourism Ireland and is acknowledged by the Leave No Trace Ireland programme. Showers and bath water are supplied by rainwater and toilets are composting. Initially we were wondering how our guests would take this but everyone loved it!
With regards to food, Rockfarm now do their own catering. While they were unable to provide a 'tasting' as such, we attended a Spring festival there and were able to taste what was on offer. The food was very wholesome, delicious and mostly sourced from the farm. Lots of people at the wedding commented on how good the food was.
The staff at Rockfarm were extremely attentive in the day before the wedding. They helped to set up and responded to all our various requests. We are truly thankful to the staff over the course of the weekend who worked so hard to help us achieve the wedding that we wanted. In the lead up to the wedding, they met with us for a long meeting to run through the finer details and answered all our queries. Do remember that it is a working farm so there may be a day or two for them to respond to emails which is completely understandable. To Rockfarm?s full and wholehearted credit, they always addressed queries we raised and dealt with them appropriately and generously.
We rate this venue 10/10 and highly recommend it. We had the best weekend of our lives! Thanks to Carina, Catherine, Lucio and everyone who worked tirelessly for us all weekend xx
Rock Farm Slane on the blog
We went for the pig on the spit option and it was beautiful, a lot of people had two plates and that was amazing there was enough food and then some. We had bacon buttys and wedges for late night and everything went off without a hitch. I?d recommend this venue a million times over! The views and vibes are on point. We?ll be having our wedding renewals there for sure Hah!
It?s great we can go back and visit anytime and stay at the swallows nest as it was beautiful as well. The accom was perfect and very unique.
