Everything from start to finish was perfect! Chloe the wedding coordinator couldn’t do enough for us, food was fabulous also!! Can’t recommend them enough!

We had the most amazing wedding in the Shearwater. Chloe was easily contactable and very responsive with any queries in the lead up to the day! On the day itself she was present. All staff throughout our experience were fantastic and most helpful with everything! The venue was perfect, decor was provided by the hotel, which was great, one less thing to worry about! The day itself went so smoothly. The meal was fantastic, guests are still talking about the food! Plenty of staff to man the bar. We would highly recommend Chloe and her team at the Shearwater to host your special day!

Can not thank Chloe and all the staff at the Shearwater hotel. Nothing was ever too much , always only an email or call away. Food and bar service was excellent and so efficient. Everything ran so smoothly on the day.

Noel and I just want to thank you for everything you have done for us on the lead up to our wedding day and on the day itself.

From the moment we walked into The Shearwater to view it as a possible venue for our wedding reception, we knew it was "our hotel". The decor, the welcome from Chloe and all the staff, the service and the sheer class was exactly what we were looking for on our wedding day.

Chloe was super efficient and organised in the planning of all aspects of the wedding. Offering advice and helping us out when needed, we really appreciated that.

Thanks to all the staff throughout the process of planning our wedding right up until the day of our wedding. Every time we visited the Shearwater from the moment we booked our wedding date, we were treated like royalty by Chloe and all the staff.

The day of the wedding ran so smoothly, greeted by Chloe and a colleague at the front door and right throughout the day, constant checks from Chloe and the team to see was everything okay. Our guests raved about how amazing the service was and how delicious the food was. They are still talking about that 10 weeks later. We cannot thank you Chloe enough and all the team at the Shearwater for the best day of our lives.

We look forward to many visits to The Shearwater as a married couple and as a family.

Hi, we had a great day at the shearwater, the food was fantastic, just a few notes I have as a bride. I was told the room where we had our ceremony was too hot and the air con should have been put on earlier, the price for a packet of crisps was a bit expensive as one person bought 10 packets and cost him 30 euro. The last thing was from me staying the night before their was no place to really hang my wedding dress and to take photos of my dress with the bridesmaids dresses around a window. These were only a few tweeks that people told me about most people are still talking about how nice the food was and service and I have to commend ye on that. Sorry forgot one thing the morning after our wedding their was problems with our breakfast in the room it took ages we afterwards wished we went downstairs to have our breakfast as we waited so long in the room to get it.

From the first email we sent to the Shearwater up until our wedding day, we couldn?t fault any of it. From the price to the food to the support from Chloe was exceptional. Chloe was so easy to deal with and professional in every way. Everything seemed so easy and anytime we needed to find out something, there was never an issue and always a quick response. We got a fantastic package and great value for money. On the day of our wedding we didn?t have to think of anything. Chloe had everything organised. We are two weeks married today and people are still taking about the venue and the food. The rump steak beef in particular. A lovely relaxed environment enjoyed by everyone. We highly recommend the Shearwater.

We got married in the Shearwater on the 27/08/22. We had a civil ceremony in the hotel, the layout of the room was lovely. Everything ran like clock work on the day, we couldn't fault anything. Chloe was very helpful from the day we met her at the meal tasting. She accomadated us with anything she could. She was always very friendly and professional. On the day of the wedding day itself, she was constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything and that we were happy with how everything was going. All of the staff on the day were extremely friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. We still have people talking to us complementing the food. From starter to dessert it couldn't be faulted. I would definitely recommend any couple thinking of the Shearwater to go with them for their wedding. If I were to go back again I wouldn't change a thing about it. If you pick them you will not be disappointed.

The planning process, the lead up and the day itself ran perfectly. We couldn't of asked for a better day.

Colm and I just want to thank everyone at The Shearwater Hotel and Spa for making our wedding day so amazing! The day could not have been any better. The staff went above and beyond for us and we could not be anymore thankful. Everything was perfect down to the smallest detail and our guest are still talking about the day! A special thank you to Chloe who accommodated all of our ideas and vision for the day. I cannot speak highly enough about the whole experience.

We had our day in July 22. Chloe was so helpful on the lead up to it nothing was too much trouble. She was always at end of phone or email. Hotel looked lovely on the day and everyone agreed that the food was just fab. Would highly recommend it to newly engaged couples.

As many couples had to postpone our wedding due to Covid, the shearwater was so accommodating in rescheduling our date. They kept the terms of our original contract which was much appreciated due to the current economic circumstances. Estella, Chloe and Averil kept us in the loop as to what needed to be done and a timeline of jobs to be completed to ensure the preparation went as smoothly as possible.

All of our ideas were taken on board and nothing was disregarded or too much to ask. We found the hotel to be extremely child friendly. As we had two young daughters they ensured we had a big enough bedroom, cots, kids clubs and reminded us about the swimming pool.

The night before the wedding we had a beautiful meal with our families, a lot more people showed up than we had originally planned. John Harvey, the bar staff and the restaurant staff assured us that there would be no problem.

The shearwater wedding team set up our memorial table, wedding favours and our kids area without any hesitation. The wedding day went extremely smoothly, Chloe and her team ensured the meal went as planned.( Even though we had to be rang to remind us to come back from the photos in Shannonbridge ). The food was outstanding and everyone at the wedding really enjoyed it.The staff were professional, friendly and we really appreciated how flexible they were to us and our wedding party.

Overall the three nights we spent in the Shearwater Hotel was really enjoyable. From the greetings at reception, to the efficient bar service, the wedding coordination team and the restaurant staff we found everyone to be so friendly and flexible. We would have no reservations in recommending the Shearwater Hotel to friends and family for any event.

We just wanted to write and say a huge thank you to everyone at the Shearwater Hotel & Spa. Our wedding day at the Shearwater could not have gone any better. All our guests have commented on the how professional all the staff were. Everyone was so helpful on the day.

When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by Ruth on the day and she made us feel that everything was under control. Exactly what you need for those wedding day nerves.

Our guests are still talking about how good the food was. Our menu went down a treat and this is due to high quality and effort put into the courses. It was so nice to sit and the top table and watch everyone enjoying themselves so much.

We would especially like to thank Estella who was always at the end of an email or telephone call. Estella made us feel at ease in the lead up to our wedding day. Also we have to mention Chloe who kindly looked after us on the day. She so carefully ensured we were ok throughout the day by checking in regularly and made sure everything ran smoothly. Even before she finished on the night Chloe came to me to ask if there was anything further we needed before she left.

We would highly recommend the Shearwater for your big day if you are thinking about it. We would struggle to find fault, I just wish the day didn?t go by so fast.

From the moment we viewed the venue with Ruth, the service and professionalism was fantastic. Anything we inquired about was not a problem and anything we wished to have at our reception was followed through without an issue. Communication with the hotel was brilliant and Estella was at the other end of the phone or email at any time, which was very reassuring when planning a wedding through a pandemic. We honestly could not recommend The Shearwater highly enough for a wedding reception, they gave us all we wanted and more and we would not hesitate in recommending it to family and friends in the future.

We got married on the 11th Of October 2019 and we couldn?t recommend the Shearwater enough. Both Tony and Lisa were brilliant to deal with, everything was stress free and nothing we asked for was too much. The refurbished ballroom looked fantastic and the meal was top class. All of our guests commented on the quality of the food! We had our after party in the hotel also and this too was brilliantly done.
We have nothing but absolutely great things to say about the Shearwater hotel and all of their staff!

We came over to stay with you from Tuesday 3rd until Monday 9th September, for our Wedding in Ballinasloe on the 6th.

We would like to say a huge thank you to you all, as you played such a big part in making one of the biggest times of our lives, one of the most memorable.

Each and every one of you that was involved, from front desk staff to housekeeping, have been an absolute pleasure to be around.

Your professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond most definitely didn't go unnoticed by ourselves, nor by our guests who came to stay.

The day went perfectly without any issues, and everything ran to the schedule that you briefed us on. We truly believe you have the right people in the right places, and work incredibly well as a team.

One of the biggest talking points of the whole day was the food. Not one person left there hungry, and everything was cooked and presented exceptionally.

From our first ever visit to The Shearwater, we were blown away by how beautiful the ballroom was set up, and this in turn lead us to choose your hotel as our location. Since your refurbishment, the ballroom delivered even more of a wow factor and was a magical place to walk into.

We would like to give a special mention to Des, Tony and Lisa, who couldn't do enough for us. You made sure that our every need was attended to, however big or small. Thank you.

We got Married in Shearwater 17th of August 2019, We had such an amazing day.it was a fantastic day from the start to finish. The staff, the team and service were absolutely wonderful and excellent. All my guest commented good compliments for the quality of the food. They enjoyed the stay and also the beautiful function room.

We would throughly recommend the Shearwater for a wedding. We were delighted with the service, value for money and quality of the food. Lots of compliments from our guests. Also the newly decorated function room is beautiful.

We had our Special Day at the Shearwater Hotel and Spa in December 2018. We had such an amazing day from start to finish and this was in no small part due to the staff at the hotel. The hotel went above and beyond for us every step of the way!

The hotel has recently undergone some fantastic renovations and the hotel is truly transformed so we were delighted to have our wedding locally. The decor is now very stylish and elegant and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas also.

Our guests raved about the quality of the food and service at every stage of the day and we were thrilled that everything went off to plan so we couldn?t have asked for more.

I honestly cannot recommend the Shearwater enough. They were brilliant to deal with, so professional on the day and the room looked amazing. Nothing was to much trouble and everything came together perfectly. All my guests loved the food. The bridal suite is lovely, and they suprised us with a beautiful breakfast the morning after the wedding, lots of free suprise champagne, fruit, robes, slippers, free food for 30 of our guests the day after the wedding too. We were delighted with the service (special thank you to the brilliant wedding coordinator Noel and Sue who was so helpful on the day).

Day was absolutely fabulous. Noel and his team were top class and food and service was outstanding. Would highly recommend treatment shearwater to any couple.

We got married in the shearwater hotel on the 25th Aug 2017 and I must say the day was absolutely perfect!

This hotel is fabulous from start to finish. Its such a big hotel with a beautiful lobby where we had our drinks reception. The decoration of the lobby, hallway leading to the function room and function room itself was gorgeus with lanterns, roseball centre pieces etc.

The wedding packages are so reasonable and include variety to accommodate all styles of wedding.
The staff were amazing and so helpful, anything we asked was never an issue.
We can't thank Noel Fahy, the wedding coordinator, enough for everything he did. You made the planning so easy on the run up to the wedding and I had no stress or issues leading up to the big day. All the staff and managers are so professional and so friendly and made the whole weekend so stressfree and enjoyable for us.
I can't say anything about the food only it was gorgeous, so hot, delicious and so much of it. The menu tasting was a lovely evening too where we got to enjoy a number of options so we could pick the best. Our guests were all very impressed which it was you want on your day. The function room is fab also and for our day we had the white draping all around the room which made it even more luxurious and magical. The dancefloor is also huge for everyone to dance the night away.

I would definitely recommend the shearwater to any couples planning your big day. We had the best day of our lives and that was all down to this hotel and the staff. We would love to do it all over again and have no regrets about our hotel choice. We really can't thank you all enough for everything.

We got married on 18th August 2017 :)..... The Shearwater was the first (and only) hotel we viewed for our wedding and within an hour had booked and paid our deposit. I would 100% reccommend this hotel to anyone looking to book their wedding. We can't praise the staff enough for everything they done for us. A special shout out to Noel Fahy, our wedding planner... No question or request was too much for him. He made us feel so welcome and relaxed everytime we popped in to see him or the million times i'm sure my husband rang him over the last few months, lol. He made the whole planning process so much easier - Thanks Noel :).....

Also a big thank you to Susanne and Des and all their staff on the day, you guys where so friendly and professional and helped the day go perfectly (extra thank you to Susanne for sneaking us out for a breather after the meal ;) )

The food was absolutely amazing and every single guest raved about it, so hats off to the chef.

The bridal suite was stunning and hugh (the champagne breakfast was greatly appreciated also) our guests also commented on how nice the rooms where and took full advantage of the leisure area :)

The shearwater were a pleasure to work with , the management and staff could not have done more to ensure we were happy and were always only a cal away when we needed to ask anything , Karyn and the team were highly professional and offered more than any other hotel we viewed , it was the happiest day of our lives and we are certain it would not have been such a success if we hadn't such a wonderful team working with us , the hotel was decorated to the highest of standard and every little detail was noticed , the guests had nothing but praise for the food and staff and it was a wonderful thing to hear as it it something that will stay with us forever

Cannot do enough for you! Karyn, Des, Seamus and every other member of staff spoiled us every time we were there. Got plenty of extras and all requests were met. Our guests loved the hotel and didn't want to leave! We had the night after our wedding here which was a great idea as everyone could relax. Food was fab. The shearwater hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding, from our first meeting almost 2 years before our big day we knew we had made the right choice. All the staff were so helpful from the girls at reception right up to Gareth and Des who looked after us so brilliantly on our special day. We had a couple of requests for the day and nothing was a problem, the meal,food,staff,service,rooms,function room was all fab.

We couldn't have asked for a better service than that provided by Garreth and Karen in the Shearwater. They were so helpful in every aspect leading up to our big day. On the day they provided everything we had requested, and then some. Our guests kept commenting on the lovely staff, the amazing food and the relaxed atmosphere on the day. We couldn't have asked for better. The value for money was unbelievable. We have recommended the Shearwater to our friends and are looking forward to many more weddings there.
