Had our wedding in the shearwater and could not ask for better our day felt so special. Chloe was brilliant and was in the back ground late into the evening to make sure everything was ok. The food was superb and couldnt ask for more.

Had our wedding in the Shearwater on the 4th of November, from the first enquiry we were met with such helpful and friendly people.Chloe in particular went above and beyond to ensure every single detail was perfect for our special day.

Just want to say a huge thank you to you and all the staff at the Shearwater Hotel ????, you went above and beyond to make our wedding day so special xxx All our guests are still talking about the hotel and how beautiful it is ??, a few have even talked about booking a weekend away, the food was just exceptional on the day, was highly complimented for its flavour and was commented on by most that was one of the best wedding meals ever had at wedding...... The staff were all so accommodating and friendly on the day ?? the floor staff in the function room are a credit to you and your organisational skills ???????? A special thank you for the beautiful sambos in the resident’s bar, they were devoted, especially by me ????????????, it was a lovely and unexpected touch and both myself n paddy are very grateful xxx

We got married in the Shearwater on the 27/08/22. We had a civil ceremony in the hotel, the layout of the room was lovely. Everything ran like clock work on the day, we couldn't fault anything. Chloe was very helpful from the day we met her at the meal tasting. She accomadated us with anything she could. She was always very friendly and professional. On the day of the wedding day itself, she was constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything and that we were happy with how everything was going. All of the staff on the day were extremely friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. We still have people talking to us complementing the food. From starter to dessert it couldn't be faulted. I would definitely recommend any couple thinking of the Shearwater to go with them for their wedding. If I were to go back again I wouldn't change a thing about it. If you pick them you will not be disappointed.

The planning process, the lead up and the day itself ran perfectly. We couldn't of asked for a better day.

This Hotel is just amazing, not one fault, from the minute we went to look at it as a venue for our big day to the day after wedding, all the staff were so professional and helpful, alway prompt in replying to emails. Chloe and team took the stress out of the planning. Our guests are still talking about the food, the service, especially how quick the meal was served. We will definitely back to his hotel more often, for dinner, a spa, a concert or just a family gathering, ideal place, so central to loads of places. The reception is fab, nice and very relaxing.

We got married in the Shearwater Hotel last July, after several date changes due to covid. Estella, Chloe and Ruth couldn't have been more helpful over the 3 years of planning. There was never any issues with changing dates and they were always there to help in any way they could and were so accommodating of any requests we had. Everything was perfect on the day-the food and service was top class. All our guests have complemented the great service and food. As many couples had to postpone our wedding due to Covid, the shearwater was so accommodating in rescheduling our date. They kept the terms of our original contract which was much appreciated due to the current economic circumstances. Estella, Chloe and Averil kept us in the loop as to what needed to be done and a timeline of jobs to be completed to ensure the preparation went as smoothly as possible. All of our ideas were taken on board and nothing was disregarded or too much to ask. We found the hotel to be extremely child friendly. As we had two young daughters they ensured we had a big enough bedroom, cots, kids clubs and reminded us about the swimming pool. The night before the wedding we had a beautiful meal with our families, a lot more people showed up than we had originally planned. John Harvey, the bar staff and the restaurant staff assured us that there would be no problem. The shearwater wedding team set up our memorial table, wedding favours and our kids area without any hesitation. The wedding day went extremely smoothly, Chloe and her team ensured the meal went as planned.( Even though we had to be rang to remind us to come back from the photos in Shannonbridge ). The food was outstanding and everyone at the wedding really enjoyed it.The staff were professional, friendly and we really appreciated how flexible they were to us and our wedding party. Overall the three nights we spent in the Shearwater Hotel was really enjoyable. From the greetings at reception, to the efficient bar service, the wedding coordination team and the restaurant staff we found everyone to be so friendly and flexible. We would have no reservations in recommending the Shearwater Hotel to friends and family for any event. A huge thank you again to all the Shearwater staff for making our day so special. We look forward to visiting the hotel soon.

I can not thank all of the staff at the Shearwater, especially Estella. Estella responded to every question and need for help extremely quickly and helpful. The entire process of planning and preparing for our wedding was made a breeze and very enjoyable by the hotel. We were not very knowledgeable with thw planning and running of weddings and decisions we had to make and the hotel staff helped shed light on anything we needed making everything stress free from they great knowledge and experience with weddings! All staff was extremely friendly. The day of the wedding you would think all staff were guests at the wedding they were so kind and helpful to everyone. The day went without a bump thanks to them all. Our guests were all taken back by the beauty of the Hotel, rooms, staff, drinks and amazing food! I was trying to have a sightly "unusual", "untraditional" wedding and I feared it would be difficult bur definitely was not. The Shearwater is my favourite hotel and we will continue to use the pool, bar, restaurant and B&B because of how amazing it all was and our children loves it too!!

We just wanted to write and say a huge thank you to everyone at the Shearwater Hotel & Spa. Our wedding day at the Shearwater could not have gone any better. All our guests have commented on the how professional all the staff were. Everyone was so helpful on the day. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by Ruth on the day and she made us feel that everything was under control. Exactly what you need for those wedding day nerves. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was. Our menu went down a treat and this is due to high quality and effort put into the courses. It was so nice to sit and the top table and watch everyone enjoying themselves so much. We would especially like to thank Estella who was always at the end of an email or telephone call. Estella made us feel at ease in the lead up to our wedding day. Also we have to mention Chloe who kindly looked after us on the day. She so carefully ensured we were ok throughout the day by checking in regularly and made sure everything ran smoothly. Even before she finished on the night Chloe came to me to ask if there was anything further we needed before she left. We would highly recommend the Shearwater for your big day if you are thinking about it. We would struggle to find fault, I just wish the day didn’t go by so fast.

From the moment we viewed the venue with Ruth, the service and professionalism was fantastic. Anything we inquired about was not a problem and anything we wished to have at our reception was followed through without an issue. Communication with the hotel was brilliant and Estella was at the other end of the phone or email at any time, which was very reassuring when planning a wedding through a pandemic. We honestly could not recommend The Shearwater highly enough for a wedding reception, they gave us all we wanted and more and we would not hesitate in recommending it to family and friends in the future.

The Shearwater team and wedding coordinator Estella are fantastic. The welcome reception and dining room décor was beautifully and tastefully decorated by the shearwater team. The food was excellent. Thank you Shearwater Team.

The months leading up to them Estella was so helpful and answered all my covid worried emails. They where very accomodating in term of room check out too and made me feel very relaxed. We got married on the 11th Of October 2019 and we couldn’t recommend the Shearwater enough. Both Tony and Lisa were brilliant to deal with, everything was stress free and nothing we asked for was too much. The refurbished ballroom looked fantastic and the meal was top class. All of our guests commented on the quality of the food! We had our after party in the hotel also and this too was brilliantly done. We have nothing but absolutely great things to say about the Shearwater hotel and all of their staff! Thank you for a great weekend!

What can I say about the team at the shearwater, an absolute to pleasure to deal with from the very beginning when we went to look at the venue, we knew straight away this was where we wanted to have our reception. Nothing was ever a problem. We didn't need to do a thing with the venue, everything was fabulous. Lisa and Wayne were both so lovely and could not do enough for us. Everybody was commenting on the fabulous service and food. Myself and cathal would highly recommend the Shearwater Hotel for your wedding.

We would like to say a huge thank you to you all, as you played such a big part in making one of the biggest times of our lives, one of the most memorable. Each and every one of you that was involved, from front desk staff to housekeeping, have been an absolute pleasure to be around. Your professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond most definitely didn't go unnoticed by ourselves, nor by our guests who came to stay. The day went perfectly without any issues, and everything ran to the schedule that you briefed us on. We truly believe you have the right people in the right places, and work incredibly well as a team. One of the biggest talking points of the whole day was the food. Not one person left there hungry, and everything was cooked and presented exceptionally. From our first ever visit to The Shearwater, we were blown away by how beautiful the ballroom was set up, and this in turn lead us to choose your hotel as our location. Since your refurbishment, the ballroom delivered even more of a wow factor and was a magical place to walk into. We got Married in Shearwater 17th of August 2019, We had such an amazing day.it was a fantastic day from the start to finish. The staff, the team and service were absolutely wonderful and excellent. Overall we were delighted with the way our wedding went, it was exactly how we had planned. The venue was top class the staff were excellent and in particular Des and Tony on the day of the wedding were fantastic. We had our Special Day at the Shearwater Hotel and Spa in December 2018. We had such an amazing day from start to finish and this was in no small part due to the staff at the hotel. The hotel went above and beyond for us every step of the way! The hotel has recently undergone some fantastic renovations and the hotel is truly transformed so we were delighted to have our wedding locally. The decor is now very stylish and elegant and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas also. Our guests raved about the quality of the food and service at every stage of the day and we were thrilled that everything went off to plan so we couldn’t have asked for more. Both the Manager, William, and the Wedding Co-Ordinator, Lisa, were just fantastic throughout the whole process and we would highly recommend the Shearwater Hotel and Spa to any couple getting married in the area.

Our wedding reception was in the Shearwater Hotel on the 7th July 2018. Aisling our wedding coordinator and the management team Sue and Des went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. The food was exceptional and everyone is still talking about it. Each member of staff was very friendly and attentive and the service was excellent. No request was too big or too small from start to finish. We cannot thank Aisling and the team enough for an amazing day.

I honestly cannot recommend the Shearwater enough. They were brilliant to deal with, so professional on the day and the room looked amazing. Nothing was to much trouble and everything came together perfectly. All my guests loved the food. The bridal suite is lovely, and they suprised us with a beautiful breakfast the morning after the wedding, lots of free suprise champagne, fruit, robes, slippers, free food for 30 of our guests the day after the wedding too. We were delighted with the service (special thank you to the brilliant wedding coordinator Noel and Sue who was so helpful on the day).

We cannot recommend the Shearwater Hotel enough. We got married on Dec 1, 2017, the hotel looked absolutely fabulous. They had done everything they promised and more! The food was absolutely incredible, we could not fault a thing. There was always someone on standby to make sure we were ok with everything, at all times. The service was incredible - we had 348 at the wedding and we were shocked to see everyone receiving their meal pretty much the same time we did. They are an incredible team who make sure every tiny detail is covered, and do everything they can to make your day the best one possible - and ours definitely was.

We got married in the shearwater hotel on the 25th Aug 2017 and I must say the day was absolutely perfect! This hotel is fabulous from start to finish. Its such a big hotel with a beautiful lobby where we had our drinks reception. The decoration of the lobby, hallway leading to the function room and function room itself was gorgeus with lanterns, roseball centre pieces etc. The wedding packages are so reasonable and include variety to accommodate all styles of wedding. The staff were amazing and so helpful, anything we asked was never an issue. We can't thank Noel Fahy, the wedding coordinator, enough for everything he did. You made the planning so easy on the run up to the wedding and I had no stress or issues leading up to the big day. All the staff and managers are so professional and so friendly and made the whole weekend so stressfree and enjoyable for us. I can't say anything about the food only it was gorgeous, so hot, delicious and so much of it. The menu tasting was a lovely evening too where we got to enjoy a number of options so we could pick the best. Our guests were all very impressed which it was you want on your day. The function room is fab also and for our day we had the white draping all around the room which made it even more luxurious and magical. The dancefloor is also huge for everyone to dance the night away. I would definitely recommend the shearwater to any couples planning your big day. We had the best day of our lives and that was all down to this hotel and the staff. We would love to do it all over again and have no regrets about our hotel choice. We got married on 18th August 2017 :)..... The Shearwater was the first (and only) hotel we viewed for our wedding and within an hour had booked and paid our deposit. I would 100% reccommend this hotel to anyone looking to book their wedding. We can't praise the staff enough for everything they done for us. A special shout out to Noel Fahy, our wedding planner... No question or request was too much for him. He made us feel so welcome and relaxed everytime we popped in to see him or the million times i'm sure my husband rang him over the last few months, lol. He made the whole planning process so much easier - Thanks Noel :)..... Also a big thank you to Susanne and Des and all their staff on the day, you guys where so friendly and professional and helped the day go perfectly (extra thank you to Susanne for sneaking us out for a breather after the meal ;) ) The food was absolutely amazing and every single guest raved about it, so hats off to the chef. Cannot do enough for you! Karyn, Des, Seamus and every other member of staff spoiled us every time we were there. Got plenty of extras and all requests were met. Our guests loved the hotel and didn't want to leave! We had the night after our wedding here which was a great idea as everyone could relax. Food was fab. 11 out of 10, outstanding, surpassed anything we could have wished for, the day was perfect, people told us it was the best wedding they had been to. Des, who looked after us on the day was in a league of his own, a ledgend in his own right, thank ye all so much.

The manage and wedding coordinator couldn't have been more helpful and all the staff on the night. Anything we asked for they provided. The meal was delicious and the function hall was set up beautifully.

We highly recommend this hotel for any couple who is getting married in the future..the hotel is gorgeous,the staff so friendly,the management and wedding co ordinator couldn't do enough for us in lead up to the day and of course the day itself..they were so professional and very approachable. The food is always a worry with couples who are getting married..will it be up to standard? Will it be hot enough? Well the Shearwater even exceeded our expectations..the food was amazing as was the service on the night..Our guests were still talking about it 2 weeks after the wedding???? So for any newly engaged couple this is definitely a hotel worth checking out and seeing..xx

I definitely would recommend this hotel to everyone for a wedding. The food was outstanding, the room was gorgeous, the wedding co-ordinaries were so helpful on the day and all the time leading up to it. If I was to redo my wedding day all over again I wouldn't change anything about the hotel.

The shearwater hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding, from our first meeting almost 2 years before our big day we knew we had made the right choice. All the staff were so helpful from the girls at reception right up to Gareth and Des who looked after us so brilliantly on our special day. We had a couple of requests for the day and nothing was a problem, the meal,food,staff,service,rooms,function room was all fab.

We couldn't have asked for a better service than that provided by Garreth and Karen in the Shearwater. They were so helpful in every aspect leading up to our big day. On the day they provided everything we had requested, and then some. Our guests kept commenting on the lovely staff, the amazing food and the relaxed atmosphere on the day. We recently got married in the Carlton Shearwater hotel and I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Having been a guest at a wedding previously we saw first hand what our guests were to expect and we were not disappointed. Garrett, Des and all the staff went above and beyond to make the run up to our wedding and the wedding day so special for my family and all of our guests. From the drinks reception on arrival to the residents bar at the end of the night the service and quality was evident. Food was fresh, hot and served so quickly and everyone commented after on the quality. We would happily recommend this hotel and our only regret is that We don't get to do it all again!
