Orlaith and Ritchie wanted to create a fun, festive and informal atmosphere for their big day, and judging by these pictures filled with personality by Eric Ronan, they did just that! Their pretty-in-pink themed traditional wedding was held in the stunning Druids Glen Resort, Wicklow, where guests danced away the night in celebration.

My dress… My dress was a Suzanne Neville Promise dress from Kadee Bridal in Athlone. I wanted something quite simple and elegant and it was just perfect for what I was looking for…
Our bridesmaids… My best friend Caitriona was my chief bridesmaid, and my daughter Chloe who is 15 was my other bridesmaid, so I wanted them in different style dresses which were age appropriate whilst matching them in through the colours. Both dresses were Kelsey Rose and we loved the vibrant colours when we saw them.
Our ceremony…Our band in the church was The Dublin Gospel Project and they really kicked the party off with some great songs. For my entrance song to the Church they learned Israel Kamakawiwo’ole Somewhere over the Rainbow at our request and did an amazing job, it really put me at ease before I walked up the aisle! They also learned Adele’s version of The Cure song Lovesong which was just beautiful and as we left the church they sang Jackie Wilson’s Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher which had us practically dancing down the aisle!
Our theme… We wanted a very fun relaxed party atmosphere more than a formal wedding as such. We also wanted the wedding to be quite spring/summery so the bridesmaid dresses were fuschia and candy pink.
We chose our venue because… We chose Druids Glen as our wedding venue as we just fell in love with the ballroom when we first visited. Also, the wedding coordinator Nessa was simply amazing and really put us at ease the first time we met with her. We knew there and then that was the venue for us and that with Nessa on our side we could relax and just enjoy the run up to it all. On the day itself they went above and beyond all our expectations, the ballroom was simply magical and everything we had dreamed of and Nessa and the staff really helped to make it the most perfect day for us.
Our cake… We wanted something that everybody could enjoy so went with the cupcakes through Creative Cakes. They did a great job setting the whole thing up and it was great to finally see it on the day, the top tier was made of chocolate biscuit and the cake topper was Richie’s choice which I didn’t get to see until the day!
Our stationery & decor… We used the one design for the invitations, mass booklets and name place cards which was a simple ivory butterfly theme by congratulations.ie. We also incorporated this into the venue itself with butterflies adorning everything from the tables to the cakes! For our table plan and guest book, we decided to go with a New York theme as Richie was born in Yonkers, New York and came to Ireland when he was four years old. We had Yonkers as the top table name and named the other tables according to the guests at that table, Tiffanys, Macys etc. We had a teenagers table which consisted of Chloe’s cousins and friends, so we named that table FAO Schwarz and had a Flying Saucer Sweet tree as the centerpiece which, needless to say, was torn apart by the end of the night!
