A Simple and Elegant Wedding With Greenery, Sage, Pink and White

Meet Danielle and Kevin, a lovely couple who celebrated their wedding at Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny. Their wedding was simple and elegant, with lots of greenery, sage, pink and white.

Danielle and Kevin met on a night out in Kilkenny. They say their proposal story is very typical of Kevin. Here’s the story from Danielle’s perspective:

“On our last night in Santorini, he sent me to the fridge to get him a bottle of beer! In the fridge was a ring! Most people hear Santorini and think a romantic proposal down on one knee with the sunset behind you. Not a hope of that happening with Kevin!”

Their wedding was simple and elegant. Men in tuxes, bridesmaids in light sage green. The most beautiful flowers with warm whites and light greenery. Subtle pinks mixed through the bridesmaids bouquets.

Danielle wore a Justin Alexander fit and flair dress from Bijou Bridal in Tramore. She wore Jimmy Choo shoes and a Folkster veil with pearl detail.

The bridesmaids wore Folkster. One bridesmaid was 8.5 months pregnant and looked amazing in the dress. She said it was so comfortable for the day.

They had a church ceremony in St John’s Church Kilkenny.

“It’s a beautiful ceremony, made special by having a priest who has been a family friend for 20 years. He hadn’t been well but made an effort to be there to marry us. It meant so much to have him there. The ceremony was lovely, great music and plenty of laughs.”

They hosted a beautiful wedding reception at Lyrath Estate.

“The Lyrath was just beautiful. The staff made us feel like royalty, not just the day of wedding but the day after too. Before we could even ask for something or even knew we needed something they were there with it all prepared. They were so amazing, I can’t thank them enough.”

Their wedding was perfectly captured by Darragh of Stargaze Photography.

“Darragh was amazing! Knew exactly what he was doing. Told us when to get ready in our dresses etc that morning. Got amazing shots that we didn’t even see him take. Was so easy going and a pleasure to have there on the day.”

For entertainment, they had Niall O Loughlin, the caricaturist, who was brilliant! Guests loved him! Instead of doing wedding favours, they bought a round of drinks for everyone.

Danielle’s most favourite memory was, “seeing my husband in the church, with all our guests. Also loved the morning prep, it was so chilled and lovely in the house that morning, excitement and bubbles were flowing.”
