Welcome to website of Gemma Sugrue. Gemma is a native of Killarney, Co. Kerry and is now based in Cork. She is studying for her masters in vocal performance at the Cork School of Music, where she has received her honours bachelor of music degree. She has been training her voice since the age of sixteen and was awarded twice by president Mary McAleese with the High Achiever Award. She has studied under the tenor, Robert Craig at the Cork School of Music and Babara Alden, London and is currently studying with international soprano, Mary Hegarty.&#;Gemma has been working as a professional vocalist for weddings, events and shows for nearly a decade. She has toured Australia and Europe with Irish music productions; "The Spirit of Ireland", "To Dance on the Moon" and "Dance of Desire".&#;Her local solo appearances include Cork Jazz festival , The East Cork Choral Society, Madrigal &#;, and the premier Irish performance of Stephen Oliver&#;s &#;The Garden&#; .&#;She also fronts Ireland&#;s all female, live band &#;She&#;s Electric&#; and is a part time vocal coach.&#;With her varied experience in classical, jazz, pop and irish traditional music, you're guaranteed quality music arrangements for your special occasion, personally customized as you require.&#;

Hi Gemma,
I just wanted to send you this mail to say, thank you so much for making our Wedding Day so magical. You blew us away from start to finish.
To be honest, I do not remember much about the church, as I was in my own little nervous world, but I can clearly remember your amazing voice and the shivers you sent down my spine with your amazing singing, especially when you sang Oh Holy Night. You blew everyone in that cold church on a freezing December morning away, and put a smile on all their faces. One of my friends actually thought it was a cd playing until his girlfriend pointed you out he couldn?t believe how fantastic and clear you sounded.
At the reception so many people commented on your amazing voice but also said how great you looked! You were the true professional from the minute I booked you, and with the pressure of being a bride to be, you put me at such ease throughout and it was one less thing to worry about.
You then sang our first dance song which was Leona Lewis ?Footprints in the Sand?, you really gave her a run for her money. It was breathtaking, as the band said ?how in the name of god can we play after that!?. We had so many people ask about you after our big day, and I'm honoured that you played for us on the most special day of our lives. I would recommend you in a heartbeat to anybody that is looking for a singer for their wedding or any other special occasion.

We were recommended Gemma for our wedding after a relation saw her singing "Oh Holy Night" at Christmas mass in the New Church, Killarney. We hadn't heard her ourselves until the day and we were really blown away. She has such a powerful voice, she sang an Eva Cassidy song as well as the classical stuff. The organist who accompanied her was excellent as well.

I am just back from honeymoon but i just wanted to email you to thank you for such a wonderful job on the day of our wedding. I was asked about two things in particular that day, one was about my wedding dress and the other was the music in the church. I was asked numerous times about the music as people thought it was amazing. The music for the church was the main thing that i wanted people to talk about and that was definitely achieved, it was so haunting in the big church and a lot of my friends said that they never cried so much (in a good way!) at a wedding.
I will have no hesitation to mention you to any of my friends getting married in the future.
