From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank John, Clodagh, Charlotte and Ian in Ballintaggart House, Dingle for hosting the most amazing day of our lives. From start to finish, they couldn't do enough for us. This family team pulled out all the stops for us and made all of our 60 guests feel individually special. A number of our guests commented that the food was of 5* quality... the Dingle Bay Crab and avacado salad was to die for, followed by Pea & Mint soup with bacon crisps and a majority of our guests opted for the Kerry Spring Lamb which came out as a rack, herb crusted and pink... melt in your mouth.
John organised everything for us from the Hair and make-up to the florists, who were all amazing and I have taken the liberty to pop their details below.
John's mum Charlotte made our wedding cakes? we decided to go non-traditional and have a coffee cake, a chocolate cake, a carrot cake and a mixed berry sponge... they were beautiful and at 1.30am, the usual 'rowdies' were all sitting in the Drawing Room, sipping tea and eating fingers of cake! It was fabulous!
Clodagh, John's sister of 'Pink' beauticians in Dingle provided me with a well needed massage on arrival on Friday... second to none and aleviated all my pre-wedding knots! Clodagh also did fabulous make-up on the day and I can't recommend her highly enough.
Ian, Clodagh's partner along with Charlotte is the chef in Ballintaggart and made the most fabulous breakfasts, and wedding dinner. On the day of our departure he provided the whole wedding party with a sit down buffet lunch of quiches, terrines, salads, mini smoked salmon and caper pancakes, burgers, and marinated chicken with much much more.
As we waved goodbye to our guests on Sunday, they gushed about the most 'special venue' on earth, the people who provided it and the food that melted in your mouth.
I wish the best to all involved and I can't wait to return next year for our anniversary!

I'm in the middle of organizing my wedding here, planned for July 2011 - and I can't stop talking about this stunning house. It was the first and only venue I'd gone to see, and I absolutely fell in love with the place. John is incredible to deal with, making you feel right at home from the first 'Hello'.We've been planning a bit of an off-kilter event, with a Civil Ceremony, a Barbequeue instead of a sit-down meal out in the Marquee - John's been 100% behind us all the way, and he's an absolute fountain of ideas.
He's also well set up with the local suppliers in and nearby Dingle, and it made finding a local band & DJ, hair and makeup a breeze. There's absolutely loads of photos on their Facebook page and it'll give you a much better idea of how the whole venue looks. The view of the bay from the front of the house is just breathtaking, and there's a beautiful tiny beach less than two mins away, Doonshean, that we're going to go to for some of the pictures.
