We could not have picked a better band for our wedding! From warming up the crowd, to our first dance, crowd interaction, to seamlessly transitioning over to the dj, flog the dog were fantastic. There was no need for chairs in the venue at all because everyone was up on the dance floor with no hesitation. Absolutely incredible! We have guests of all ages still calling out to the house to talk about the band. Steve and the band on the night are genuine, down to earth, friendly lads, it was an honour to have them part of our wedding.

They were amazing. Steve is such an entertainer. The dance floor was floor for every song and the craic was ninety. All our guests were raving about the band. It couldn’t have gone better.
Steve and the whole band were great to deal with from the beginning and Steve engaged with the crowd the whole way through the set. Funny guy! I’m still laughing looking back on all the videos. I would highly recommend if you are lucky enough to have these guys available on your wedding day.
They do have an Irish/trad sound to them so just make sure that is the vibe you are going for.

Flog tha Dog were absolutely top class from start to finish. So easy to contact and book initially. Steve was an absolute pleasure to deal with in the lead up and the band learned Harvest Moon specially for our first dance. On the day of the wedding the band were absolutely unbelievable! Non stop craic from start to finish, great tunes and great interaction and craic with the crowd! All our guests were raving about them afterwards and we agreed that they made our day so much fun. We had Flog the Dog for our wedding in October 2021 and they are without doubt the best wedding band we have ever heard. The dance floor was full all night and they played a brilliant variety of songs. Steve is a gentleman and a pleasure to deal with, very helpful with any queries we had in the lead up to our wedding. We booked Flog the Dog soley from their videos and boy they did not dissapoint. When covid hit and our wedding plans were thrown up in the air, Steve was incredibly supportive all the way through. Regardless of restrictions, we were always getting married on the 3rd of October. That date did come and we got to celebrate with forty of our nearest and dearest family and friends. Not only did we feel so safe in our hotel we had the best craic with Flog the Dog. Hands down it was the best wedding we were ever at!! Flog the Dog catered for all ages and their 2000s dance medley at the end was class! Guests and staff raved about the band! Our guests commented on how relaxed and intimate our wedding was. The best things do come in small packages. We were truly blessed. Thanks a mil to Steve and the rest of Flog the Dog, you were unreal, even if you did leave Kerry win the dance off!

We had flog the dog for our wedding at the end of February and my god if we could give anyone any advice it would be to stop the search and book them now! They were amazing from the frequent contact to learning many new songs for our day, to bringing the absolute craic to our wedding. They provide all if the music for our day ( ceremony, drinks reception, band and DJ and I would recommend taking the whole package with them) They were amazing! Each and every member of the band are so lovely and made our day the best day ever and they are super talented. I really could not recommend them highly enough and I hope to be a guest at many weddings they play in the future. Thanks for everything!

Where to even start!! Do not look any further than Flog the Dog! We booked the lads for our wedding on New Years Day this year and the guests are still talking about them and wanting to know where they can go see them again!!!
We had a crowd that was really mixed old and young and Steve was well able to read the crowd and knew exactly how to interact with them to ensure they were enjoying the night! Would definitely recommend to anyone book them fast!!

Getting this band for our wedding was some of the best spent money on our day.... The only problem, we didnt want them to finish! We have had numerous comments from friends and family regarding how great the band were. Everytime we happened to get away to Kerry Flog the Dog happened to be playing, so when it came to planning our wedding they seemed like the perfect fit.

Steve and the band were lovely from the off set and even when it came to us picking out first dance song then changing our mind about 15 times (and as close to two days before the wedding) we were met with "no problem, that's grand".

On the night of the wedding expectations were exceeded and with our permission which the band sought first, they allowed our nephews (aged six) to join them on stage for a number of songs. We're married two months and the kids still think they're celebrities.

Thanks to Steve and the gang for everything. If I got to do it all again, we'd still book flog the dog every time ????

After an extensive search for a band, we came upon Flog the Dog on facebook. With the wedding taking place roughly a 7 hour drive from where the band is based, we rang them up and there was no issue. We where quite apprehensive with not knowing the band beforehand and with the distance between us but it was worth it. Flog the Dog surpassed all our exceptions and we can not thank them enough. They played to suit all age groups at our wedding and managed to keep a crowd on the floor at all times. It never emptied!! Each member of the band give 100% and they made the evening feel very personal to us and our guests. We would tell any couple thinking of booking this band to just DO IT!!

If your having a wedding flog the dog has to be your band. They were brilliant from the moment they started playing till the end we didn't want the nite to finish if they could of played on all nite we be still up dancing the floor was never empty and that was my one fear I had was o my God what if no one gets up dancing but low and behold even if u didn't dance u were dancing that nite everyone is talking about my band the kids had a ball and the adults were up all nite they played a mixture of everything and my daughter and dad even sang with the band Steve was our dj too and hopefully we will meet him again at someone else's wedding I couldn't be happier we booked them so book flog the dog they won't let ye down thanks a mil Steve and crew best wedding ever even if it was my own ha ha. One word - AMAZING! Seriously unreal from start to finish! Such a brilliant mix of music for the entire set. The guys were so interactive with the crowd, getting the craic going and playing games on the dance floor (if that's not your thing I'm confident they can read the room and focus it solely on the music). People could not stop talking about the band after our wedding - it has been mentioned in every single thank you card and text we have received! This is not your average wedding band, it's fun and young and folk and cool - their aesthetic is literally a mix of all those things! If you are looking to avoid matching suits, sunglasses and brown eyed girl - book this band! Though I'm sure they could play brown eyed girl if you want cos everyone loves Van! We had the best day and want to thank Steve and the gang so much!

We used Flog the Dog for our second day party. They were very responsive to any queries we had leading up to the wedding. On the night they arrived on time and got the music going. They played a great mix and got our guests involved in traditional Irish songs dancing and singing. We all had a great night with Flog the Dog.

Where do I start...Steve and the guys were just amazing! We are married nearly two months and our guests are still talking about them.
We had a small wedding of 57guests so we were worried that it would be hard to create an atmosphere and fill the dancefloor with that number so we spent a long time searching for the right band. We both love trad music and always manage to get rattlin bog played anywhere we go so when we came across a clip on youtube of Flog the Dog singing this song along with more recent music we knew it would be a perfect fit.
Steve played at our drinks reception and everyone mentioned that he created a brilliant atmosphere. Actually 3 guests (who don't know each other) all got his details for their own weddings! He really set the tone for the day and helped us kick off the party in style!
Then the guys really kicked things off after dinner. The dancefloor was barely empty all night! They played everything and knew how to read the crowd. One of my favourite memories is when they split the floor into two and got us to do a singing battle of the Proclaimers 500miles - so funny! I also asked them to learn a song that was pretty special to myself and my bridesmaids and they did an amazing job of it.
I can keep going on but I honestly cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for a bit of craic and banter and a filled dancefloor then flog the dog are the band for you. Also, i loved the reaction i got everytime i told someone the name of the band! Music is so important when it comes to your wedding and thankfully we got it right - everyone is still talking about them! (had to repeat that because I got asked about them again only last week)

We got Flog the Dog to play at the wedding ceremony,reception and the disco music which was one of the best decisions we made.

Their music catered for all ages and tastes.During the planning stages Steve sent us on their playlists of their various types of music that they play from which really was extremely helpful to us.

We have to credit them for been very efficient when setting up their equipment once the meal had finished.
Their sound within the ballroom was just perfect.

Fantastic band. Did an amazing job at our wedding! 5 stars for sure! The dance floor was full literally all night long and all of our guests were saying how great the band was. Steve was so friendly and helpful in the lead up to our wedding and answered all of my e-mails really quickly as I was planning the wedding from Scotland. When I met the other band members at the wedding (and by accident the day after the wedding) they were really nice too! They also acted as DJ for the end of the night and took all of our playlist requests as well as adding in some extra songs. The band really engaged the guests - including playing some Scottish and Irish ceil? dances. There was a great atmosphere all night thanks to the massive effort the band was putting in. Flog the dog were incredible at our wedding, it's the number one element that our guests have commented on apart from the weather! They create such a fantastic atmosphere, they read the crowd really well and are very flexible.Their set list was so good no-one wanted to leave the dance floor. Chris and I would book them again in a heartbeat. We were married in Meath, and had them travel from Kerry so provided hotel rooms, this wasn't a bother and well worth the extra organisation. We would definitely go and see them again next time they are playing near us.

My husband Sean and I chose Flog the Dog for our wedding band after we saw them bring Scotts courtyard in Killarney to life one bank holiday weekend. We were looking for a band that would start strong, keep people on the dance floor, and play a mix of traditional and modern music to ensure that everyone was able to have a dance ? They did not disappoint. From day one, they were great to deal with, an excellent price and made sure that all my visions came to life. They nailed our first dance, Thin Lizzy Dancing in the moonlight, and the floor was packed from start to finish. My 8 month pregnant cousin laughed that she was suppose to go home early but could not leave the dance floor. They played a great mix that catered for all and even allowed my Dad to sing a song with them, which was very special to my family. The transition from band to DJ was seamless and both the guests and the hotel asked for their name for future reference. If you are looking for a lively band, that goes with the flow and can play anything, you should get onto Flog the Dog immediately, we were delighted with their service and they truly brought our night to life.

I hired flog the dog after finding them on youtube. What an easy decision, they were absolutely perfect with a great mix of old and modern songs in their unique Irish flare.
Our small destination wedding only had 60 guests and flog the dog kept the party alive from start to finish, even staying later than hotel wanted them too. Everyone commented "what a great band" all night and days to follow.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Steve, Paul, Tanya and the rest of the band exceeded our expectations in every way! Enough cannot be said about how thrilled we were to have them play our wedding. From the very beginning, Steve was easy to work with in planning our big day from across the world in the U.S. They were able to accommodate every request and need we had from start to finish. We initially didn't have the budget to allow us to book Flog the Dog but after working with Steve, we came up with a package both parties were happy with. If I have one piece of advice for couples getting married, it's to not settle for a mediocre band to play your reception! At the end of the day, your guests will remember the fun they had after the ceremony more than anything else. I can assure you that Flog the Dog was worth every penny and more than the fee they request. We are still reliving the night of entertainment they provided to us and our guests! We have several soon to be married couples that attended our wedding and would love to have them come to the U.S. and play their own weddings! From what Steve told us... that is something they would do! ;) Highest praise to Steve and all the Flog the Dog members for their professionalism and pure musical talent! Flog the Dog are a fantastic wedding band, they played for our wedding New Years Eve. Our dance floor was full from the first to the last song they played. They interacted well with the crowd and were very professional from the very first meeting. They responded promptly to my messages before the wedding and were always very helpful. Flog the Dog played at our wedding reception in Ballyroe Heights Hotel and they were amazing! They created a great fun atmosphere and had everyone up dancing,both young and old. They were so professional and offered such a brilliant service. Since then my brother in law and fianc? have booked them...so looking forward to seeing them again! Would definitely recommend them for your big day!

We had our wedding in Durrow in Co. Loais. The band were effortless.
Facilitated with any song request we had and our first dance song. They were reasonably priced too. The dance floor wasn't empty from the time they started until the very last song ended. They played for an extra hour and half too, a total of 3 hours. They also had a lot of people laughing as they interacted with them. To sum up they made our amazing day even better. Couldn't have asked for any more.

Absolutely brilliant at our wedding, set the day off amazingly and got the whole party going.

Flog The Dog performed at our wedding reception on the 1st August and they were brilliant. Steve and the band were very friendly to deal with - polite and professional from the very first email. They are clearly talented musicians, covered a wide range of song styles and made the night extra special and fun! We've had so many positive comments from the guests and the dance floor was full all evening.

Forgive the long review....but we have a lot to say on this fabulous band :-) We were having a wedding of about 65 people and were very very concerned to have the music compliment this size of a group. I should say at this point that I play classical and trad music myself as a hobby and have played with bands in the past. Eamonn also adores his music so it was always going to be an absolutely crucial part of our day and there were high expectations from our guests because of this. We had gone around to a few wedding fairs and had been struck at how overpowering a lot of the bands were, with a large drum kit which pretty much drowned out any conversation, tried to mask poor vocals and musicianship and we just knew that was not for us as it would kill the relaxed mood and annoy everyone. In the back of our minds we wanted an acoustic band with a good mix of trad and current, where the musical talent would just shone through all on its own, but knew that we would have a search on our hands!! Then we saw an ad in the Brides of Limerick magazine that ticked all the boxes. We looked them up on youtube and liked what we heard. We went to see Flog the Dog at a pub in North Cork and were really impressed with how they sounded, how they interacted with the crowd, took requests and just generally had a good time with the crowd with a really good mix of trad, classic pop and even Uptown Funk made its way into the set list! We had a great chat with them after the session and even though they were the first band we had really seen, we booked them with a deposit straight away because we knew there was no point looking elsewhere. In the lead up to the wedding, Steve kept in touch with Eamonn going through set lists, taking a few requests up front for the first dance and father of the bride dance. They also had no problem setting up their 5 piece band early before the meal and had everything ready to go by the set dinner time. Consummate professionals. I was a bit of a control freak on other parts of the wedding I admit, but this was one area I never really worried about as I just knew that Steve and Paul were as invested in making this as great a night as we were. And what a night it was. There were dance offs, waltzing, sing alongs, requests and loads and loads of dancing....even Tommy K with all the dance moves made an appearance with my brother leading the dance moves interacting with Steve and co. The evidence of the fact that I didn't sit down all night was that my legs were crippled for the first few days of the honeymoon ......and I wasn't the only one either....plenty of other guests were in similar pain!! Even the non dancers said that they enjoyed the "private concert" they got and just sat back, chatted easily and enjoyed the music. The band kindly let me play a few tunes with them as well which made my parents' day. It was also the first time my new husband heard me play and it is one of his favourite memories from the night. I never noticed the time going. Unknown to us, the band kindly played on when they heard we weren't having a dj because they said they were having as much fun as we were so it was 1am before we knew it! If you want something different from the usual wedding bands with quality music which will appeal to trad and main stream music lovers alike and if you love acoustic guitar music sessions with a bit of cheerful banter thrown in then this is the band for you. I should also mention that our wedding venue was really impressed with the music (they do over 100 weddings a year) and asked where we found them so they could recommend to other wedding couples in Limerick, so boys I hope you get loads more bookings. I know we were only your 4th wedding ever, but you would never have known it and we feel very lucky that we had you with us for our day. Lots of great memories. I had never heard this band before my brothers wedding but was so taken with them afterwards I just had to look them up. They were absolutely fantastic, catered for all types of music tastes, engaged audience exceptionally well and produced a sound that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. I know from comments I heard on the night that the younger folk thought they were fab and the older folk actually commented on how great the music was and how rare it was to be still able to actually engage in a conversation on the periphery of the show. This alone added so much to the wedding and both families enjoyment of it that I just couldn't recommend them highly enough for such an occasion. You definitely won't be disappointed!

We hired Flog the Dog for our Christmas wedding after seeing them 3-4 times around Kerry. We loved them every time we saw them as they played a fantastic mix of songs and always got the crowd going from the get-go. We were thrilled with the value for money we got from them and the constant contact from Steve who always replied to any of my queries which is great when planning a wedding. We couldn't recommend this band highly enough.
