Waterford Castle has to be one of the most amazing places you could get married in. Once you drive onto the ferry, the fairytale begins.
We had our civil ceremony in front of their huge open fire,followed a beautiful drinks reception afterwards.
Gillian, our wedding coordinator, was amazing, couldn't recommend her highly enough and everything ran like clock work.
It was lovely to have the whole castle to ourselves for the 24 hours. The staff we're so kind, friendly and very helpful in every way.

We were looking for an elopement wedding and Waterford Castle seemed to be a perfect venue initially. However, on exploring our options we found the package far too pricy with photo/video options limited to the castle. The staff was amiable and accommodating. We didn't get to try out any meals as the venue was booked for a wedding which was understandable.

We had our wedding in Waterford Castle in December last year and it was just magical. A beautiful venue anytime of the year but at Christmas it was really special. The staff were fantastic, couldn?t do enough and Gillian the wedding coordinator is great, made everything just so easy for us, nothing was a problem and the day ran so smoothly. If something went wrong, we didn?t know about it!! Highly recommend them as a wedding venue.

Waterford Castle truly was the perfect place to get married for us. From the minute we first saw the venue and met Gillian we knew we could have an amazing weekend with our friends and family there. The staff made the weekend for us- they were so friendly and accommodating to all our guests! The food was incredible, especially the BBQ on the day two. We had the best day of our lives! Gillian and all the staff at the Castle put so much work in and made the whole day flow so smoothly. The venue is just the most romantic and elegant setting and we were lucky enough to be able to have our ceremony outside. The Castle is perfect for an intimate wedding and it's just so cool to have the whole castle to yourselves. The food was outstanding and people are still commenting about it 5 weeks later!

We knew we would choose Waterford Castle for our wedding venue from the moment we drove on to the ferry to the island. It's a fairy tale venue bought to life by a phenomenal staff. All of our guests are still talking about the magically venue and the wonderful people, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. There was no request too large that their expert wedding planner, Gillian, couldn't handle and make look simple! The food was out of this world, we had a large number of guests with dietary requirements and they got personalised menus with delicious specialised meals. The accommodation was also flawless. They have the option for guests between luxury castle rooms or the value rooms in the lodges (which are actually quite luxurious!), they cater for everyone.

From the moment we walked through the door to view Waterford Castle as a possible venue for our wedding, we were treated like royalty. A private island, with a castle that you have to take a ferry to, if that wasn?t a wow factor I?m not sure what is. From our rehearsal dinner, to our beautiful wedding day, to our Halloween bbq party on the day after, it was amazing. The staff went above and beyond for us. Our wedding coordinator, Gillian, did an absolutely fantastic job and was on top of everything at all times, this was especially comforting for us as we were planning a wedding from New York. The grounds were a perfect backdrop for our pictures, the fine dining food was delicious and the cocktails from Ilario were amazing, everything was flawless! I can?t say enough about the phenomenal staff, we truly felt like a VIP at all times. So many of our guests actually told us that ours was the best wedding they have ever been to. We will cherish these unforgettable memories forever. Waterford Castle, we can't thank you enough for our magical day!

My husband and I got married in Waterford Castle in July and would highly recommend it. The castle and castle grounds are simply magical. Our wedding coordinator Gillian was amazing. She was very responsive to emails and everything we asked for was accommodated. The food was outstanding, the steak deserves a special mention. Without doubt, it was the best steak I've ever tasted. A few guests also mentioned the steak being amongst the best they'd ever had. There's a certain atmosphere in Waterford Castle that simply has to be experienced rather than described. I'd highly recommend a visit. Overall, we had the most amazing day and would highly recommend Waterford Castle as a wedding venue.

We cannot recommend Waterford Castle enough as a wedding venue. We got married there in July and it was the most magnificent occasion. I can only say that we were spoiled for the entire weekend. The venue is stunning but the staff, especially our wedding co-ordinator Gillian were exceptional. The food was divine and all dietary requirements were catered for (there were a few) with no hassle whatsoever. Many of our guests have said it was the best wedding they ever attended and some of the best food they have ever eaten; all a testament to professionalism of the staff at Waterford Castle. I cannot fully express in words how grateful my husband and I are for the tremendous care that was taken of us and every single one of our guests at our wedding. We intend to visit again soon so we can relive some of the beautiful moments we shared there on our wedding day.

I cannot say enough about our daughter's wedding at the Waterford Castle Resort. It was way beyond anything we expected. Linda made it so easy to plan our Irish wedding from North Carolina, USA. But I want to talk about the day, a true princess meeting her prince at the castle. Linda and the entire staff at the castle knew it was their day and the "white carpet" service began early in the morning. A seamless operation - from putting on her gown; walking down the aisle surrounded by beautiful music flowing from the harp; a pleasant canape reception; the 5 course, 5 star meal (guests are still talking about the food served); and the "dancing all night" complete with an Irish Band followed by the DJ; to breakfast in the morning - we were never without someone close by to meet our every need. As for actually having this wedding overseas, every guest is still talking about their time at the castle and the rest of their trip (an opportunity to travel abroad) exactly what the bride and groom wanted. This mother-of-the-bride will forever be grateful to all those at the Waterford Castle who made this an event full of fairy tale moments. We are already planning a return visit to the Castle and historic Waterford.

Our wedding was more than what we expected! Waterford Castle is such a beautiful venue to have a wedding and the whole day just felt like a fairytale. All of our guests loved the accommodations that the castle and grounds had to offer. The zip line by the condos was a big hit. Almost every one of our guests tried it at least once. Everything was just perfect!

We had the pleasure of planning our day with Linda and it was just that-a genuine pleasure. She made all the elements involved in planning our wedding easy and carried out tasks without fuss, which comes naturally to her. This is a reflection of all the staff in the castle- warm, friendly and nothing was too big or small a request.
Our guests truly enjoyed the day-the food, lawn games, personalised menus and the additional items that we brought in to personalise our day were also on view. They loved the rooms in the castle and the lodges too.
We followed our day with a barbecue in the golf club. This was a super extension to our wedding, giving guests who had travelled the opportunity to stay a little longer and giving us the opportunity to chat further to people who we didn't get a chance to on the previous day. The food and service were equally outstanding in the golf club.
I would not hesitate booking a wedding in the castle-it really is a hidden gem for a wedding in Waterford, giving you the opportunity to live in a bubble of love with family and friends for the weekend.

Having the full run of the castle for the day was very special to us.
The atmosphere was fantastic and the whole day ran so smoothly. The food was beautiful from the canapes, to the meal and the evening food.
We were also delighted that the castle could accommodate us in having our ceremony outdoors.

Everything to do with the castle is just fantastic! Gillian or wedding coordinator was great from start to finish and even the days following the wedding all the staff were brilliant! We had the most amazing day and the food was brilliant! The atmosphere location venue everything about it was perfect! The castle really is a special place for a winter wedding!

From the very first meeting with Gillian, we were made to feel like we were the first and only couple to ever get married at Waterford Castle. In fact, everyone at Waterford Castle treated us like royalty! We truly feel like they could not have done any more for us throughout the planning of the wedding and the day itself. The care and attention that the whole team devoted to us was astonishing.
Gillian made us feel like there was no request too big or too small and was so experienced that she seemed to understand everything we were imagining for our big day. We chose to have miniatures on the tables as our wedding favours and when it was realised (during the drinks reception!) that we were short a few, Gillian popped out to the local Tesco to pick some up! I cannot imagine this happening at any other wedding venue - she was absolutely a dream to work with!

We had the most amazing wedding at Waterford Castle. The entire experience was an absolute fairy tale, perfect from start to finish. Everything was impeccable and exceeded our expectations, from the wonderful staff, to the phenomenal food and the brilliant grounds. Our wedding coordinator, Gillian, was amazing. Waterford Castle was the perfect venue for us; the setting, the service, the staff and the food all contributed to us having the most amazing day and creating memories to cherish forever. The venue is outstandingly beautiful and even in the rain the inside spaces are so stunning and atmospheric that there are still loads of opportunities for fabulous photographs.
Linda was our wedding coordinator, she was amazing, making sure we never stressed and that all the big and small details were perfect.
The food was spectacular and many guests commented on just how delicious it was. How the chef manages to create such delicious and gourmet dishes for so many people at once is a wonder!

What a fantastic weekend. From start to finish everything was sublime. The setting was obviously stunning but it was the Waterford Castle staff who made our wedding extra special. They were extremely helpful - from settling the pre-wedding nerves to making sure everything was where it needed to be on the big day. We couldn't recommend Waterford Castle enough. It certainly has the wow factor and it has given us memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

Waterford Castle and in particular Linda did everything in their power to make our day feel special. They paid great attention to detail for our small and intimate wedding. Our photographer loved the natural light and surroundings of the castle to make all the pictures look that bit more amazing

The children present were kept occupied and all enjoyed their time in the castle as did all the guests who were made feel like royalty in the luxurious rooms.

We had a fantastic wedding at Waterford Castle and were thrilled we chose to host our reception there. It is a stunning setting to host a wedding and the only thing that tops the setting is the service. From the day we first sent an email enquiring about their wedding packages, we were treated to professional and friendly service. Gillian is brilliant at her job; she was really helpful and made planning a wedding from abroad very straightforward. The service from all the staff on the day of the wedding was great. A particular highlight was the food, which in the words of one of our guests was a "miracle" for mass catering. It was more akin to food you would expect to receive in a good restaurant than at a wedding.

The lodges are very nice, we loved that all of our guests could stay on the Island and our guests liked that there was a very affordable accommodation option available for them. The rooms in the Castle itself are lovely, especially the Presidential Suite! Many of our guests commented on what a great venue it was and we definitely would not have wanted to host our reception anyplace else.

From the first day we visited the castle to the day we checked out and beyond, we have been assisted and guided every step of the way. Mirka was a god-send, taking all of our 1920s related decorative items for the treats table and recreating them on the day. Our table plan was created by Mirka and our menus and place-card names were all designed and created to match our invitations. A warm, inviting atmosphere was created on the day by the roaring fire, the canapes, champagne reception and the pleasant manner of the staff. No request was too small or too big on the day and we didn't feel as though we were inconveniencing any member of staff. The wine was flowing on the day and the quality of the food was spoken of by all attending the wedding. The staff were so professional and knew the names of guests with special dietary requirements without needing to consult a sheet. We were blessed with the weather on the day but even if we weren't, the interior of the castle is magnificent for photographs. While our guests were ordering their food, we were brought into the bar, presented with a cocktail and seated on our own. This was a beautiful breather in an otherwise busy day which allowed us to absorb what we had just celebrated. All rooms were impeccably presented and again, the bridal room had special touches to it, we were so disappointed we couldn't spend longer in the room but we will certainly return to check in to the Presidential Suite and relive some happy memories. Mirka was waiting for us when we came down for breakfast to welcome us as a married couple and to ensure that everything we had brought was accounted for and we were satisfied with everything. We felt for that one day that we were truly special, the castle was ours to wander in and out of, the staff were there for us and the setting was one which we would never have been lucky enough to have at any other venue. Thank you to all for a truly memorable day.

Waterford Castle is the reason our wedding day was so special, it was the first and only venue we visited when deciding where we would celebrate our wedding day. We were blown away by the excitement of taking the ferry to the island and the beauty of the castle, inside and out. The exclusivity it offers is amazing and from the minute you step inside the beautiful oak doors, taking in the aroma of the fire and the ambiance the castle offers, we felt at home and knew this was the venue for us. Our decision was reaffirmed by Mirka, she is courteous, efficient and really cares, making the whole experience magical from start to finish. From the first day we met, to the food tasting with our parents and of course the wedding day Mirka and her team went above and beyond and we would recommend them highly to all of our closest friends and family. Our guests were blown away by the castle, the relaxed yet classy atmosphere, the superb 5 star food and the beautiful bedrooms and lodge guest houses. The food was divine and this was expressed by each and every guest. Antonio ran an organised ship on the day and we felt at ease knowing he was there. We had such a fantastic day, it really did feel like a fairy tale dream come true, this was also echoed by all our guests. The day ran so smoothly we didn't want it to end, especially as it flew by so quickly, however we will always have the beautiful memories to cherish the day for many years to come and we feel that this is down to Mirka, her team and the beautiful Waterford Castle. Elegance, magical and a hidden gem would be three words we would use to describe the castle, alongside professional, dedicated and caring to describe the team at Waterford Castle. We felt our wedding day was unique, extremely special to us and everything we dreamed of, a perfect day to be cherished forever.

For us being in Australia it was really important for us to find a venue that was easy to deal with and excellent at communicating with us via email and telephone as we obviously did not have the convenience of being able to pop up for a chat. From the very first enquiry we made to Waterford Castle we knew that they were going to be easy to deal with and would go out of their way to ensure that we were happy. Unlike a couple of other venues in the area, we instantly got the feeling with Waterford Castle that they wanted our business and were happy to do whatever it took to get it. Our wedding co-ordinator Mirka who we mostly dealt with from start to finish was simply fantastic from start to finish. She was very efficient, pleasant, and nothing was too much hassle for her. You really could not wish for a better person to be your wedding co-ordinator than her. In addition to that, the venue speaks for itself in terms of its exterior, interior. It is stunning. From the ferry ride over to the island to driving up the long tree-lined drive to then seeing the castle you know that this venue is special!! We had guests from all over the world at our wedding (Australia, UK) and everyone commented on what a fabulous venue it was.

We had the distinct privilege of getting married at Waterford Castle this past June. Waterford Castle is a beautiful, romantic, and elegant wedding venue. All of the staff, and in particular the wedding planner and the dining room manager were highly competent, professional and friendly. The staff ensured that everything went off without a hitch and that there was no hassle or stress during the wedding. One of the bridesmaids even complained that there was nothing to help with! The dinner was simply fantastic and we received numerous compliments specifically on the fillet of beef and the white brownie dessert. As we understand, the restaurant received a Michelin recommendation this year, and it certainly deserved it. In short, we cannot recommend Waterford Castle highly enough. Everything from the beautiful venue, to the competent staff, to the delicious food were above expectations. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Waterford for making our wedding day everything we could have hoped for and more! As an aside, the day following the wedding we had a pig roast (arranged through Waterford Castle) at the Golf Club. We would also highly recommend this as the pork was tender and delicious and it gave us an opportunity to visit with our out-of-town guests and extend the celebrations.
